Dr. Krishanthi (Krish) Vithana is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Southampton Business School, University of Southampton. She completed her PhD at Durham University Business School and joined Southampton Business School in 2015. Her research focuses on Human Resource Accounting within organizations. She also conducts research in areas including accountability related to performance and governance, social and environmental disclosure, market-based assessment of ESG and sustainability, and the Real Living Wage. Her work has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting Forum, and The International Journal of Human Resource Management. Krish is the principal investigator of ESRC IAA-funded research projects, including “The business case for investing in real Living Wage accreditation” and “Integrating the ESG agenda into investment analysis: the case of climate engagement.” She has actively collaborated with industry partners, including the Global Responsible Investment team at Aviva Investors, the Living Wage Foundation, and the Platform Living Wage Financials initiative.
During the event, Assoc. Prof. Krish discussed the topic “ESG reporting at a Vietnamese Industrial Zone,” presented by Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung.
In addition, student research groups working on the topics “Climate change risk and firm value” and “Earnings management and analyst forecast” also received valuable feedback from Professor Krish to further refine their research directions.
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Krish was also teaching the course Financial Investment for students in the Elitech Business Analytics Program at the School of Economics and Management.
