About the Mentors: 

Kazem Vafadari is a Professor of Tourism and Hospitality in Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (Japan). Before joining APU in 2011, he worked at United Nations University and Kanazawa University in Japan and served the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as an advisor and scientific committee member. His research interests include tourism and natural resource management, agriculture heritage landscapes, community building, rural revitalization, and destination branding. He has published several book chapters and papers on tourism applications of globally important agricultural heritage systems, and on planning for sustainable tourism development.

 

Dr. Ning (Chris) Chen is a lecturer in marketing at the Department of Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing University senior & of Canterbury, New Zealand. His primary areas of interest include identity and attachment theory in different contexts including place, branding, and sports, and the motivations and impact of word-of-mouth behaviors especially in social media. His research interests include place attachment, brand attachment, fandom,  word-of-mouth(mouse), and personal connection.
