Alumni
MISSION
The SEM Alumni is the network that strengthens the bonding between graduates and current members, maintains the School’s core values, and supports the alma mater’s development. It is part of HUST’s mission, aiming to develop high-quality education, scientific research, technological innovation and knowledge transfer for a stronger economy and better society.
GOALS
• To strengthen the ties between former students by creating a forum of professionals and like-minded individuals;
• To foster a spirit of loyalty, to promote the general welfare and to help raise the profile of SEM;
• To nurture an inter-generational mentoring and support system; and
• To call for any kinds of support for the School.
ACTIVITIES
The SEM Alumni helps the graduates connect with the School and University and with the other network members through a wide range of events and activities, encouraging alumni’s involvement in current-student mentoring, education and research activities.
Events include, but are not limited to:
- Alumni networking such as topical gatherings, music and sporting events and the like;
- Alumni career engagement programs to mentor/inspire undergraduate students at SEM and provide them with related career guidance;
- Anniversary celebration activities;
- Exposing students to a broad range of industries and companies and connecting them to meaningful careers after college;
- Raising funds, sponsorship, scholarships for SEM’s educational plans;
- Helping to improve the quality of teaching and academic research.
